4/16 Thank-you letters

Editor’s note: The Clovis News Journal will periodically publish thank-you letters of public interest. Letters should be less than 300 words and the writer must be identified. Writers should include telephone numbers and addresses for verification purposes. Letters may be edited for clarity, content and space considerations. Names of for-profit businesses may be deleted prior to publication.

Medical personnel professional, efficient
I wish to express my appreciation to some medical people we have serving Clovis and surrounding communities.

Twice, I experienced an emergency health problem in the last 30 days. The service I received from my doctor and his staff, plus the support of the Plains Regional Medical Center staff, was outstanding.

I can’t name all the people at the hospital who served me, but they were professional and efficient handling the paperwork and the medical service I received.

Relay for Life donators deserve generous thanks
We are the co-chairs for the 2006 Curry County Relay for Life and are writing on behalf of our event planning committee. We would like to publicly thank the city commissioners and other generous citizens who recently opened their pockets to help pay the park usage fees for this year’s RFL.

Relay for Life is to be held on May 5-6. The theme is from Dr. Seuss’ book, “Oh, the Places You will Go.” It is our intention to honor juvenile cancer survivors.

We’re looking for a young person to serve as honorary chairperson. Nominations are being accepted at the local American Cancer Society.

Cancer is an evil that knows no social, gender or economic boundaries and we are grateful to all who join us in the fight to beat it. The community is invited to join us as we raise funds to battle this dreaded disease.

It’s not too late to register a team. Call us at 760-7573 or 749-1836 for information.
