On the job: A look at the Clovis Police Department

What would you be doing if you weren’t a police officer? Ranching in Colorado with his family.
Hobbies: Riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Q: Did you play “cops and robbers” when you were a kid? Which one were you?
A: The cop of course.

Q: What is the best excuse anyone has ever given you to get out of trouble?
A: There have definitely been a few ranging from needs of the bathroom, being in labor, but the best was when I stopped a guy for speeding in a Porsche (98 mph) and when I asked him the reason for the speed he simply replied … “Because It’s a Porsche, dude”

Q: Who is your favorite TV or Hollywood cop?
A: TV — Nash Bridges. Hollywood — Martin Riggs

Q: What CD is in your stereo right now?
A: Sorry, no CD it is XM Radio.

Q: Favorite desert?
A: Cherry cheese pie.

Q: Beverage of choice?
A: Usually water, but when I am in need an X-Large Cherry Lime from Foxy’s.

Q: Favorite snack food?
A: There are way to many to mention.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a police officer? Be in insurance or auto sales.

Q: Did you play “cops and robbers” when you were a kid? Which one were you?
A: Yes, I think I was a little of both. Robber was more fun.

Q: What is the best excuse anyone has ever given you to get out of trouble?
A: I had a guy tell me he was selling the marijuana for Christmas money.

Q: Who is your favorite TV or Hollywood cop?
A: Clint Eastwood

A: Chips and salsa

Q: Did you play cops and robbers when you were a kid? Which one were you?
A: No, I liked to play cowboys and Indians. I was a cowboy.

Q: What is the best excuse anyone has ever given you to get out of trouble?
A: I stopped a female for speeding. She said she was having trouble controlling her bowel movements and that she was about to have an emergency if she did not get to a bathroom quickly. … She was released with a warning.

Q: Favorite desert?
A: Chocolate Molten from Chili’s.

Q: Beverage of choice?
A: Carmel Machiato.

Years of service: 7
What would you be doing if you weren’t a police officer? Running the pizza restaurants in Albuquerque that I sold just before deciding to be a cop.
Hobby: Cycling. He rides about 200 miles a week.

Q: Did you play cops and robbers when you were a kid? Which one were you?
A: Actually it was cowboys and Indians (I never had enough hair to be the Indian).

Q: What is the best excuse that anyone has ever given you to get out of trouble?
A: “I’m in labor” (The expectant mom’s water broke while I was standing there talking with her. … I escorted her to the emergency room. … guess it worked.)

A: John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn

A: No more stereo, went to an iPod. My latest download was Gorillaz “Feel Good Inc.”

A: Pineapple upside-down cake

A: Starbucks Mocha Frappucino

Years of service: 15

Q: Did you play “cops and robbers” when you were a kid? Which one were you?
A: I was always one of the good guys, of course, a cop.

Q: If you weren’t a police officer, what would you be doing?
A: I have known that I wanted to be a police officer since I was a little boy. I have been a policeman since I was 19 years old. If I were not a police officer, I would probably be either a lawyer or a computer technician.

Q: What is the best excuse anyone has ever given you to get out of trouble?
A: A lady told me that she was speeding because she had diarrhea and was trying to get home as quick as she could.

Q: Favorite TV or Hollywood cop?
A: I would have to say John Wayne as U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn.
Q: What CD is in your stereo right now?
A: Alabama’s Greatest Hits CD Album.

Q: What is your favorite dessert?
A: My absolute favorite dessert is banana cream pie made from scratch by my Aunt Dody in Oklahoma! It is the best.

Q: Beverage of choice?
A: Coffee.

A: Caramel popcorn.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a police officer? “I do not know the answer to that, a police officer is all I ever wanted to be.”

A: Yes and I was always the cop.
