Two injured in three-car accident
A 79-year-old Clovis man and 41-year-old woman were injured in a three-car accident on Thornton Street near Clovis High School around noon Friday, according to Clovis police.

Robert Middleton was transported to Covenant Memorial Hospital in Lubbock, police said. The woman was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center with possible head and neck injuries.

Police were unable to provide more information pending a complete report.

Assessor’s notice deadline extended
The deadline for the Curry County Assessor to mail the Notices of Value to property owners has been extended to May 1.

The extension was granted by Tim Eichenberg, property tax division director.

According to Curry County Tax Assessor Randy Williams, the extension was necessary because of a delay in printing the notices by his office.

“We (Assessor’s office) have gone to a two-sided document in an effort to save money,” Williams said, “and it took longer than expected.”
