In her words: Weeks spent her military career in administration, handling telephone calls and doing typing, correspondence and filing.
She spent three years in active duty and then joined the reserves, serving in four different branches. She retired in 1996 at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque.
Traveling and learning through the military had a great impact on her life, she said, and gave her skills that she still uses.
Weeks was honored by having her name listed on the Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C.
