Clovis Head Start
recruiting students
The Clovis Head Start Program is recruiting students, according to a Clovis Head Start press release.
Children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old are eligible for the Early Head Start and preschool, the release said.
Facility tours and information about services are available at 901 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard or by calling 762-5585, the release said.
Head-Start is a national nonprofit program to help children with disabilities or from low-income homes, the release said.

CCC holding
play auditions
Clovis Community College is holding auditions for the musical “Damn Yankees,” according to a CCC press release. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on June 1 and 2 in the CCC Town Hall, located on the college campus.
Actors and actresses above the age of 7 are invited to audition, the release said. Children who audition must be able to read, the release said.
The play will be performed July 27-30, according to the release.

GEAR UP seeking
school supplies
A joint project between Clovis Community College and Clovis Municipal Schools called GEAR UP is seeking school supplies for Clovis seventh-graders.
New pens, pencils, notebook paper, spiral notebooks, three-pronged folders with pockets, dividers, map pencils and backpacks are being accepted in CCC room 104 through June 30.

Fulbright scholar
Elizabeth Greig of Clovis has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study public health in Cuernavaca, Mexico, according to a Kansas State University press release.
A 2006 Kansas State graduate, Greig hopes to work with Hispanics as a future physician
She is the daughter of Hal Greig and Francine Stucky-Greig of Clovis.
