Richard L. “Andy” Anderson, 70, of the Rhea community and formerly of Clovis, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at BSA Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born June 6, 1935, in Drayton, N.D., to Dave and Ann Durheim Anderson. He married Velta Knight on Dec. 2, 1955, in Farwell. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. He was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base for several years.
He had lived in the Rhea community for 36 years, moving from Clovis. He was a mechanic and owned Rhea Engine Service.
He was a member of the Rhea Lutheran Church and the American Legion in Clovis.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Rick Anderson Jr. of Texico; two daughters, Debbie Lewellen (and husband, Donnie) of Friona and Susan London of Amarillo; three sisters, Mary Ann Fontaine of Hibbing, Minn., Darlene Larsen of St. Thomas, N.D., and Carol Bestland of Buffalo, Minn.; two brothers, Ronald Anderson of East Grand Forks, N.D., and Bob Anderson of Puyallup, Wash.; and seven grandchildren, Greg and Chance Lewellen, Cassie and Luke London, and Brett Anderson, Zane and Shaylee Anderson.
Dale Schueler and the Rev. Mark Stovall will officiate services.
Burial will be in the Rhea Lutheran Cemetery.
