Investigators have some promising leads in last month’s robbery of a Clovis bank, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation official.
Federal agents continue to work closely with Clovis police to solve the case, FBI agent Bill Elwell said Tuesday.

A branch of New Mexico Bank & Trust located in the Hilltop Plaza shopping center was robbed July 14 by a man who placed a mock bomb on the counter and demanded money from the tellers, police said.
The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The shopping center had to be evacuated while Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialists from Cannon Air Force Base examined the device.
Video footage from the bank’s security cameras did not provide a viable image, the FBI said.
