Clovis Police are looking for a woman they said robbed two city convenience stores Saturday with a machete.

Just before 8 p.m., she entered a Shell gas station on East First Street wielding a knife and demanded money, according to a Clovis Police press release. The woman left without money in an older model blue Ford pickup truck, the release said.

About 10 minutes later, a woman fitting the same description entered Fast Stop Convenience Store on Thornton Street, again demanding money, the release said. The clerk showed the woman an electronic panic button around her neck and she fled the store on foot without getting any money, the release said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic woman about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds, according to police. She was wearing a brown jacket and jeans, had brown hair in a pony tail and wore prescription glasses, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Curry County Crime Stoppers at 763-7000.
