Antelopes blast ENMU in WT event

CANYON, Texas — Tonya Booth and Dana Edington had nine kills each and Grand Canyon made short work of Eastern New Mexico University on Friday, rouoting the Zias 30-17, 30-15, 30-13 on the opening day of a tournament being hosted by West Texas A&M.

While the Antelopes (10-10) compiled 39 kills with only nine hitting errors in the match, the Zias (6-19) managed just 17 kills and had 30 attack errors.

Jessie Macknicki and Emily Ferrell each managed three kills for the Zias in the match. Junior libero Stephanie willett notched a team-high 13 digs, while soplhomore setter Kara Killian had 11 digs and 10 assists.

ENMU returns to action for its final match in the event at 1 p.m. (MDT) today when the Zias take on St. Mary’s.
