Associate broker lands district vice president role
Sharon Hicks, an associate broker with Re/Max First Place Realtors in Clovis, has been re-elected Southeast District vice president of the Realtors Association of New Mexico, according to an RANM news release.
Hicks represents the Clovis-Portales area as well as Hobbs, Roswell and Carlsbad, she said.
A past president of the Clovis Board of Realtors, Hicks said she holds Texas and New Mexico brokers licenses. A Certified Residential Specialist, she was president of the New Mexico Certified Residential Specialists in 2000.
She has been in real estate since 1972, she said.

Clovis doctor new president for state surgeon’s chapter
Dr. Jacob George of Clovis has been elected president of the New Mexico chapter of the American College of Surgeons, according to an ACS news release.
A practicing orthopedic surgeon, George is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and serves as president of the medical staff at Plains Regional Medical Center, according to his office spokesperson. He also practices at Eastern New Mexico Physicians and Surgeons and the Surgery Center of Eastern New Mexico.
He has been practicing medicine since 1980 and came to Clovis in 1995, according to his office spokesperson.
