United Way of Eastern New Mexico surpassed its 2006-2007 campaign goal of $525,000, with donations and pledges totaling $525,955.48, officials announced Friday in a news release.
During the final day, United Way received corporate and individual gifts and pledges that put the fund-raising effort over the top, the release said.
Curry and Roosevelt counties exceeded their separate goals of $455,000 and $70,000 respectively. For Curry County, United Way reported donations and pledges of $455,897.16. For Roosevelt County, funds raised totaled $70,058.32.
“The generosity of the community is truly overwhelming,” Campaign Chair Leo Lovett said in the release. “Thank you all who supported the campaign this year.”
