Education Digest: Students score numerous awards

Clovis students dominated in a Santa Fe dance competition, according to Clovis Schools officials.

The Gattis Junior High School Bear Essentials, Marshall Junior High Kitten Magic, Yucca Junior High Chap Dance, and Clovis High School Wildcadettes competed March 17 in the Santa Fe Ski Festival Dance Competition sponsored by American Dance Drill Team School. The teams received top honors for their dance performances, according to their instructor Kim Cordova.

An encore presentation of their performance will be held today at 6 p.m. in the Rock Staubus Gymnasium.

Admission is free to the public.

On March 29, the Clovis High Wildcadettes will travel to Albuquerque to compete in an annual state competition.

Friday:Clovis Municipal Schools dismisses for spring break. Classes resume April 2.

Saturday: There will be an Eastern New Mexico University 2007 spring football game at 3 p.m. at Greyhound Stadium.
A reception and auction are scheduled at 6 p.m. following the game at the VFW Post 9513 at 316 South Main in Portales.
