Religion Digest: Relations Quartet performing concert

By Tonya Fennell: CNJ staff writer

The First Christian Church of Clovis, located at 1700 North Main St., is hosting a concert at 7 p.m. today.

The Relations Quartet from Magnolia, Texas, will perform Southern gospel music. According to a church news release, the group’s concerts contain a balance of old and new music, inspirational testimonies and hilarious comedy.

Admission is free, but an offering will be taken to support the group’s mission, according to the release. Checks should be made out to The Relations.

A sandwich, finger food and dessert fellowship will follow the concert.

College student traveled on mission
Tasha Daale was among 115 Dordt College students who served on a Putting Love Into Action team with the college’s mission outreach program.

Daale is the daughter of Clovis residents Eric and Tamara Daale and a freshman at Dordt College, Sioux Center, Iowa.

According to a college news release, the goal of PLIA is to share Christ’s love with people in diverse communities, challenge participants to adopt a more service-oriented lifestyle and to assist and encourage the growth of ministry centers.

Daale used her spring break to travel to Mendenhall, Miss., to assist Mendenhall Ministries.

She and eight other students re-roofed four buildings, plowed, cleared brush and cleaned.

“When we got to Mendenhall, we were expecting to work at the Mendenhall farm, but that is not what God had in mind for us,” Daale said in the release. “Mendenhall Ministries needed roofing done more than they needed farm work done. This is just one of those examples that remind us God is in control.”
