Religion Digest: Parish planning three-day Fiesta

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish is holding its Fiesta 2007 today through Sunday.

The Fiesta will be held at 108 N. Davis St.

Today’s activities include a 5:30 p.m. dinner, which will be followed by a 7 p.m. variety show. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10.

Saturday arts and crafts, food and game booths will be open from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. A Fiesta dance will begin at 8 p.m. in the Our Lady of Guadalupe tent. Cielo will provide the music.

A May Crowning Procession will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Mass will follow at 9 a.m. The booths will open at 10:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. A car show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Raffle prizes, ranging from $2,500 to $50, will also be awarded.

The Beacon of Light Outreach Program, located at 101 Connelly St., is holding a drug and alcohol relapse prevention program at 7 p.m. today.

Guest Speaker Hank Baskett Sr. will deliver a speech on drug relapse prevention.
Music, testimonies and refreshments will also be included.

Church hosting Colorado singer
Steve Desmond, Christian vocalist from Greeley, Colo., will perform at 6 p.m. May 20 at Bethel Assembly of God.
The church is located at 1521 N. Norris St.

The concert is free and will include southern gospel and contemporary Christian music and praise and worship.
