Pioneer Days schedule of events

Monday, June 4
5 p.m. —Coronation/Pioneer Days Rodeo Queen pageant at Curry County Mounted Patrol Arena, preceding 32nd Annual Little Buckaroo Rodeo.
6 p.m. —Little Buckaroo Rodeo, Curry County Mounted Patrol Arena. Horse events (13 and under,
trophies and ribbons in each category), rodeo clown/bullfighter finals, calf riding (13 and under, three groups), dummy roping (13 and under, three groups), mutton bustin’ (7 and under). Contestants pay $1 entry fee per event.

Tuesday, June 5
6 p.m. —Little Buckaroo Rodeo, Curry County Mounted Patrol Arena. Foot events (13 and under, trophies and ribbons in each category). Contestants pay $1 entry fee per event.

Wednesday, June 6
8 a.m. —Pageant speech competition at Clovis Civic Center.
Noon —Rodeo barbecue kick-off at Bender Dodge (open to the public); Miss Rodeo New Mexico, Miss Rodeo Arizona and others, meet and greet Miss Rodeo American and 2007 visiting royalty.
7 p.m. —Fashion show/buffet and auction at Clovis Civic Center open to the public (reservation and ticket required).

Thursday, June 7
8:30 a.m. —Miss Rodeo New Mexico horsemanship competition, open to the public.
2-4 p.m. —Miss Rodeo New Mexico horsemanship and rodeo interviews (private).
5:15 p.m. —Mayor’s proclamation, City Commission meeting, Clovis-Carver Public Library North Annex.
5:30 p.m. —Rodeo encounter, mix and mingle with rodeo talent, pictures, autographs, demonstrations, goat roping, stick horse racing, Curry County Fairgrounds. A ticket for Pioneer Days Rodeo is required.
8 p.m. —37th Annual PRCA Rodeo at the Mounted Patrol Arena (Military Night).

Friday, June 8
7 a.m. —Seventh Annual Pioneer Women of the West breakfast with Bonnet Contest at the Clovis Civic Center, sponsored by ENMR Plateau. All local Pioneer Women are welcome.
9:30 a.m. —Rodeo queens and bullfighter/clowns, annual tour of area nursing homes, Plains Regional Medical Center, followed by lunch.
2-4:30 p.m. —Miss Rodeo New Mexico personality interviews.
8 p.m. —37th Annual PRCA Rodeo at the Mounted Patrol Arena, “Tough enough to wear pink” breast cancer awareness.
10:30 p.m. —Rodeo dance under the grandstand, $3 per person or $5 per couple.

Saturday, June 9
7:30 a.m. —Miss Rodeo New Mexico critique by judges for contestants.
10 a.m. —37th Annual Pioneer Parade on Main Street, theme: “Honoring Our Past.”
11 a.m. -1 p.m. — Citywide cookout and free hot dogs at Greene Acres Park, hosted by Clovis Centennial Committee.
Noon —Steer roping sponsored by the Curry County Mounted Patrol.
1 p.m. —Miss Rodeo New Mexico pageant announcement of royalty 2007-2008 at the Curry County Mounted Patrol Arena.
8 p.m. —37th Annual PRCA Rodeo at the Mounted Patrol Arena, “Tough enough to wear pink” breast cancer awareness.
10:30 p.m. —Rodeo dance under the grandstand, $3 per person or $5 per couple

Thursday-Saturday, June 7, 8 and 9
