American Medical Alert Corp. has chosen Clovis over three other New Mexico communities to locate an in-bound call center, according to a Clovis Industrial Development Corp. news release.
The company will begin operations this month at temporary quarters in the Business Enterprise Center at 105 East Grand Ave., the release said.
AMAC plans to hire up to 50 employees over the next six months, and will create approximately 150 jobs over the next several years, the release said.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to expand our West Coast operations footprint to Clovis,” AMAC’s CEO and president Jack Rhian said in the news release. “Our organization provides a quality environment for gainful employment for the citizens of Clovis, and we believe our recruitment goals will be easily achieved.”
The call center will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and handle calls from users of AMAC’s medical alert device who live alone and need medical or other assistance, according to CIDC Executive Director Chase Gentry. Gentry said the call center also will handle scheduling for doctors offices.
The temporary space will enable the company to begin operation while a permanent location is being developed.
AMAC will host a job fair from 1-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Clovis Community College. Attendees will have an opportunity to visit with company representatives and submit their employment applications. AMAC is seeking customer service agents and an operations manager.
AMAC is a health care communications company that provides support services including personal emergency response systems, emergency response monitoring, electronic medication reminder devices and disease management monitoring appliances.
The Clovis location will be the ninth call center for AMAC, however, the first in New Mexico.
