Firefighters quell two weekend blazes

The Clovis Fire Department responded to fires at two homes over the weekend, according to Battalion Chief Ike Burns.
Around 10 a.m. Saturday, firefighters made entry to a mobile home at 2405 1/2 Alabama.
Burns said a bathroom in the home was fully engulfed but firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly.
Around 10 a.m. Sunday a fire in a vacant home at 500 Sheldon was extinguished. Burns said witnesses reported it was the third fire in the abandoned home. The living room was burned and there was heavy damage, Burns said.
There were no injuries in either fire and the causes are still under investigation.
