Wind advisory issued

Ken De Los Santos, emergency management director for Clovis and Curry County, passes along this wind advisory for Curry and Roosevelt counties:

A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM MST THIS EVENING.

EXPECT INCREASING SOUTHWEST WINDS TO 35 MPH WITH FREQUENT GUSTS TO 50 MPH. WINDS WILL BE LOCALLY STRONGER OVER CHAVES AND CURRY COUNTY.

WIND SPEEDS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS THROUGH THE EVENING…AND WILL DECREASE GRADUALLY OVERNIGHT TO EASE HAZARDOUS WIND CONDITIONS.

EXPECT STRONGEST GUSTS OVER SUMMITS. THOSE DRIVING…ESPECIALLY LARGE OR TALL VEHICLES…SHOULD EXPECT DIFFICULTY IN CONTROLLING THEIR VEHICLE IN GUSTY CROSS WINDS.
