ALBUQUERQUE — Public Service Company of New Mexico is offering a payment plan to help low-income customers with winter utility bills that will be due after March 15.

That date marks the end of a program that protects people from having their bills cut off in the winter.

The payment plan is aimed at customers who qualify for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program or face financial hardship.

It lets them take up to seven months to pay their PNM winter gas and electric bills with no interest fees added to the bill.

Low-income customers can call 1-888-DIAL PNM for information about assistance Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
