Four Curry County residents have announced their bids for two County Commission seats up for election in November.

County commission seats for District 3, 4 and 5 and the county clerk and treasurer seats are up for election. Also up for election are three state senate and state representative spots to represent the county.

Signup day to officially enter the race is Tuesday. The party primary elections will be June 3. The general election will be Nov. 4.

County Treasurer Rhonda Bookout and District 4 commissioner Albin Smith are eligible for re-election.

Bookout has taken an unpaid leave of absence after being charged last month with tampering with public records. She could not be reached for comment. Smith has said previously he was undecided if he would seek re-election.

County Clerk Mario Trujillo, District 2 Commissioner Pete Hulder and District 5 Commissioner Tim Ashley are not eligible for re-election due to reaching a two-term limit.
