Ag meeting set for April 10
The U.S. Department of Agriculture will hold a public meeting at 1 p.m. April 10 at the Best Western, 2912 Mabry Dr., according to a news release.
The USDA Farm Service Agency is proposing changes to the program that would allow managed haying or grazing no more than once every 10 years.
The rule changes would apply to new or re-enrolled contracts.
FSA will consider public comments on the changes as it prepares state-specific environmental assessments that will evaluate the effects of the proposed changes, according to the news release.
Comments can be submitted to MHG EAs, Geo-Marine Inc., 2713 Magruder Blvd., Suite D, Hampton, Va. 23666-1572 or at http://public.geo-marine.com.
