The Daughters of the American Revolution are holding its annual state conference beginning today at the Mabry Inn.
About 100 members are registered for the event, said DAR member Linda Baldock.
The conference includes a business meeting, election of delegates, recognition of essay contest winners and entertainment.
This year’s theme is “Salute to the Great American Cowboy,” said Vicky Stratton, DAR district officer.
The conference ends Sunday.
To become a member of DAR, a woman must prove, with documentation, that she is directly descended from a patriot of the American Revolution, Stratton said.
