State Auditor Hector Balderas said he plans to release his report today on unaccounted for funds from the 2007 Curry County Fair.

Balderas said the report, which contains recommendations and verifies how much money is unaccounted for, will be released to the County Commission and the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

County Manager Lance Pyle said he will meet with County Commission leaders in the first part of next week, and will release the report to the public later in the week.

County officials discovered in December up to $11,000 in unaccounted for funds from revenues from the county fair.

State police searched county offices in mid-February and confiscated a computer, computer discs and employee personnel files.

County Treasurer Rhonda Bookout was indicted in February for tampering with government records in connection with the case.

Bookout has been on voluntary unpaid leave of absence since the indictment.
