Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 7:30 a.m. Monday an officer responded to a business in the 3000 block of Mabry Drive for a theft report.

A man said the tires and rims had been stolen off a vehicle sometime after midnight.

The officer noted the truck was sitting on cinder blocks and wood blocks.

The wheels and tires were valued around $2,500.

About 11 a.m. Monday an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a child that wouldn’t go to school.

A man said his son, a junior high school student, was disrespectful so he spanked him and the boy ran from the house.

He said he thought he called another family member to pick him up.

The officer took a missing persons report and issued a “be on the lookout” for the boy.

Around 5 p.m. Monday an officer responded to a home in the 300 block of 13th Street for a battery report.

As officers approached the house they saw a man trying to climb the fence in the backyard. The man was caught and handcuffed.

A woman in the house said she and the man were arguing and he was demanding money from her. She said he didn’t hit her but she was afraid he would.

When the officer offered her a domestic violence pamphlet, she refused and said “Y’all going to get me killed.”

The man was arrested for assault on a household member ad resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.

Around 11:30 p.m. Monday an officer responded to the area of 10th and Axtell for a report of a vehicle delivering drugs.

The officer located a vehicle matching the description and stopped it.

The driver said no because it was his employer’s vehicle.

When the officer discovered the man was on probation, he contacted his probation officer, who came to the scene and searched the vehicle.

The man was arrested when she located a small container with crystals in it that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
