The Crickets have withdrawn from the lineup at this year’s Clovis Music Festival, scheduled for Sept. 4-6.

The rest of the lineup will continue as scheduled, according to the Clovis Music Festival’s Web site.

Founded in 1957 with Buddy Holly as lead guitar and vocalist, the group recorded hits like “That’ll Be The Day” and “Peggy Sue.”

Scheduled artists for the festival include Bobby Vee and the Vees, Tommy Allsup and various tribute shows.
