Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 1 a.m. July 23 an officer on patrol on West 21st Street stopped to talk with two male subjects he saw walking.
When the officer approached, one of the males started running away and the officer saw him throw a bag he was carrying in a flower box.
The subject finally stopped and was handcuffed.
The officer found items in the bag that had been stolen from a vehicle on Merrill Drive.
The 19-year-old was arrested.
About 3 a.m. July 23 officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 1200 block of Connelly Street.
The officers found a man and woman sitting in the alley. The woman had swelling on her face, cuts and a bite mark on her arm and other injuries.
She said she had been staying with a friend because the male suspect had been bothering her. She said he came in the house and pulled her outside by her hair.
Once outside, she said he began hitting her.
Clerks from a nearby convenience store said they witnessed the incident.
He was arrested.
Around 11 p.m. July 23 an officer responded to the area of Sixth and Lea for juveniles chasing a male that had stolen a bike.
A 13-year-old said he and his friends were going home, headed south on Ross Street when they passed an older male and said hello to him.
The youth said the male pushed him off his bike and took off on it.
The boy had injuries to his knees and wrist.
Officers later located the boy’s bike behind a business.
About 9 a.m. July 25 an officer responded to a home in the 900 block of John Doe for found property.
A man said he found a pair of pants, shoes and a purse in his sister’s carport that weren’t hers.
The officer couldn’t find any identification among the items and placed them into evidence.
