Police are investigating a Tuesday stabbing incident involving a Clovis couple.

A 35-year-old woman called police around 2 a.m. from an undisclosed residence and reported she was cut several times on the arms by her former husband, according to a police report.

The woman said her ex-husband threatened her over the telephone saying that he was coming to get her, the report said.

She said her husband battered her in the past and tried to kill her, so she waited on the porch with a knife hidden under her leg, not wanting him in the house with her son.

She said he walked up and punched her in the face, knocking her out of her seat, so she stabbed him in the arm. She said he pulled out a knife, and when she put her arms up to protect herself, he cut her.

The report said the man left before officers arrived.

Officers recovered the woman’s knife, collected evidence and photographed the scene.
