Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 11 p.m. Sept. 17 officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Wallace to assist with a narcotics investigation.
A male subject had reportedly tried to sell drugs to a police officer.
Officers found the man lying on his bed and could not rouse him so emergency responders were called.
The man woke and was combative, demanding officers take him to jail.
When he reached into the window of a police cruiser and grabbed a pack of the officer’s cigarettes off the passenger seat, he was arrested and charged with felony auto burglary.
About 4 a.m. Sept. 18 officers responded to the 1400 block of Brentwood for a report of shots fired.
A woman said she heard three loud bangs and went outside to discover the window on her vehicle had been shot out.
She said she didn’t know why anyone would shoot at her house.
Officers collected bullet fragments as evidence.
About noon Sept. 18 an officer responded to Grand Avenue and Jones Street for a criminal damage report.
A school bus driver said two teens boys threw a rock at the bus, cracking the right front window, and ran off.
The officer was able to locate the 17-year-olds, take them back to their school and issue a referral to juvenile probation and parole.
About 10 p.m. Sept. 18 an officer patrolling Seventh Street stopped a vehicle for a cracked taillight.
The officer discovered the man was driving on a revoked license and arrested him.
While the man was being booked at the jail, an officer noticed a small bag of cocaine under his chair.
During a strip search, detention officers told police the man turned over a bag containing four small packets of a white crystalline substance from the back of his pants and while he was undressing, two more baggies fell to the floor.
The contents of the packets tested positive for cocaine and methamphetamine.
The 39-year-old was charged with possession with intent to traffic methamphetamine and cocaine.
