The city of Clovis is hosting a “Meet and Greet” Tuesday for community members to meet the new chief of police.

Police Chief Steve Sanders, who will assume his duties Monday, will be on hand at 1 p.m. in the Ingram room at the Clovis-Carver Library, according to a press release.

The event is open to the public.

Sanders, 47, formerly a commander with the Northglenn Police Department, has more than 21 years of experience in law enforcement and also holds a master’s degree in computer information systems, according to the resume he submitted to the city.

Sanders will replace Dan Blair, who retired in June after about 18 months as chief.
