Music from Czech Republic coming to Clovis

Clovis Community College’s Cultural Arts Series is bringing music from the Czech Republic to Clovis.

The Graffe Quartet will perform at 7 p.m., Oct. 22 at Marshall Auditorium, joined by internationally acclaimed pianist, Michiko Otaki.

Founded in 1997 while its members were students at the talent rich Brno Conservatory, The Graffe Quartet has won numerous international competitions and awards. The members include violinists Stepan Graffe and Lukas Bednarik, violist Lukas Cybulski, and cellist Michal Hreno.

The members have appeared in concerts throughout their homeland, Europe and the United States. In addition to performances from the classical chamber repertoire, the ensemble has performed many world premieres of contemporary Czech and world composers.
