The Curry County clerk’s office has four main responsibilities and numerous other tasks.
The clerk is in charge of all indexing, recording and the permanent retention of all real estate recordings, subdivision plats and surveys, marriage licenses, county commission meeting minutes, county ordinances and resolutions and other miscellaneous documents of public interest.
The clerk is the chief officer responsible for the administration of elections in the county.
The clerk has numerous duties associated with the probate court.
Then there are also various miscellaneous and secretarial duties for which the county clerk is responsible.
The clerk’s office is responsible for transferring all real estate recordings to the county assessor so that they can build the property owners’ for the tax rolls. That information is then sent to the county treasurer for tax collection.
It is crucial that these elected offices work together and we currently do that through the sharing of data, resources, equipment and personnel. During my last administration, we implemented the technology that makes this data transfer much faster and efficient.
