Election officials in Paramour and Bailey counties said they are seeing a significant increase in early voting.
Early voting in Parmer County has increased about a 50 percent increase, according to Deputy Clerk Gerri Bowers.
More than 300 voters so far have taken advantage of early voting, she said Tuesday.
In Bailey County, 764 voters have turned out to do early voting and there have been 228 mail-in ballots so far, Clerk Paula Benton said.
“There’s no comparison. We’re way ahead of anything we’ve ever had,” she said.
Bowers attributed the high profile presidential race and advertising of early voting for the high turnout.
Early voting in Texas ends Friday.
