‘Girls Gone Wild’ article disgraceful

I just read the article on the “Girls Gone Wild” in Portales (Wednesday’s CNJ). I am appalled.

I am new to the area and was told this is part of the Bible Belt, but how can this be if young adults are exposing themselves for TV? Do they not have any shame?

What are we promoting to our children, that it is OK to go to a bar and show off your nude body to cameras for a few seconds of fame?

These people must not have any self-respect. I respect myself to not drop to that level. The human body should only be shared with one person, not the entire world for free clothing.

I will say that again: The human body should only be shared with one person, not the entire world for free clothing.

I understand you need to report the news, but I don’t need my children picking up the newspaper and seeing a bus with young, half-naked girls on it and reading about teens taking off their clothes for TV. This is not what I expected a newspaper to promote. I am sure there is other news you could have put in that spot.

I am sorry to feel so stongly about this, but this is our children we are talking about. Why do so many people say the country has problems, but they don’t say that promoting this stuff, or seeing 15-year-olds wearing clothing you only see in adult videos, is bad?

It just baffles me. I hope some people open up their eyes and see that this kind of thing is exactly what we need to end in order to fix the country.
