Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 1 a.m. Nov. 28 an officer responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1000 block of Colonial Park.
When the officer arrived, he saw a male being chased by another male. The officer ordered the man being chased to stop and detained him.
The man who was chasing the 19-year-old said he found him in his garage.
The suspect said he was at a party nearby and when the police showed up, he ran and hid in an open garage. The resident of the home came out and chased him, so he tried to hide under a tree.
The officer noted the suspect had been drinking and cited him for underage drinking and criminal trespass.
About noon Nov. 28 an officer responded to the 800 block of Stanton Place for a larceny report.
A woman said she noticed her vehicle was driving funny and discovered she had a flat tire.
She said someone had replaced it with a bad one because the flat tire and the rim it was on didn’t match her other tires.
About 7 a.m. Nov. 29 an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of Navajo Road for a domestic dispute.
A woman said her boyfriend took her car keys from her by force and stole her vehicle with her purse in it.
When she reached into the car to try and retrieve her purse, she said he pushed her onto the ground and took off.
The officer located the woman’s boyfriend walking nearby. He said he didn’t steal her car but had seen it parked at a nearby store.
The man was arrested for aggravated battery on a household member.
Around 10 a.m. Nov. 29 an officer responded to a report of a hit-and-run at the intersection of Seventh and Gidding streets.
A man said his 13-year-old son was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle through the intersection.
The boy told the officer he was crossing Seventh Street when a vehicle struck the peg on his bicycle, causing him to fall. He said the vehicle kept going.
He said the markings on the vehicle were from a law enforcement department.
Officers checked on the description of the vehicle and its driver but there was no match in the local area.
