Moseley falls to fourth

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Cassie Moseley of Farwell knocked over a barrel in Tuesday’s sixth round of barrel racing competition in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, causing her to drop from first to fourth place.

With a five-second penalty, Moseley posted a time of 19.03 seconds on Tuesday. Her overall score with four rounds left is 88.97, trailing leader Jill Moody (84.36), Meagan Reichert (84.78) and world champion Lindsay Sears (88.69).

In tie-down roping, Portales’ Jerrad Hofstetter moved up one notch to sixth place with a sixth-round time of 8.60 seconds. He trails leader Stran Smith by more than eight seconds.
