Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 3 p.m. Dec. 7 an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Plaza Street for a report of criminal damage.
A woman said the night before she heard a loud bang in front of her home. She showed the officer damage to the bed liner of her pickup truck. A melted soda bottle and green liquid were in the bed of her truck.
The officer noted the items appeared to be a homemade explosive device.
A neighbor said he saw a male throw something into the truck bed and drive off.
About 6 p.m. Dec. 7 an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a report of a liquor law violation.
A woman said her son had a party at their home two nights prior and some adults came to the home with alcohol and marijuana.
The juvenile son said he had some friends over and they heard people talking in the living room and discovered five or six adults in the house with alcohol and marijuana.
Admitting he drank some of the alcohol, he said he believed one of his acquaintances had invited them over to his house.
The officer took suspect information.
About 4 p.m. Dec. 8 an officer responded to the intersection of Caesar Chavez and Martin Luther King Boulevard for a report of hit-and-run.
A 17-year-old male said he was walking west on Caesar Chavez when a vehicle struck him on the left side, hitting the heel of his left foot.
He said the vehicle stopped briefly.
The officer took identifying information on the suspect vehicle.
Around 7 p.m. Dec. 8 an officer responded to the 500 block of 13th Street for a public affray in progress.
A female caller told a dispatcher her husband was jumped by a “bunch of guys” and taken away in a vehicle.
Officers pursued a vehicle matching the description but the pursuit was called off by a police supervisor after speeds reached 70 mph on Wallace Street and the suspect ran a stop sign.
The officer attempted to make contact with the wife of the alleged victim, but was unable to reach her.
