Police are investigating what they believe to be the gang-related stabbing and beating of two men Saturday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., officers were called to 809 Jones Street.

Police Capt. Patrick Whitney said one subject received a minor stab wound and underwent surgery at Plains Regional Medical Center. Another subject was beaten with a baseball bat, he said.

Whitney said, the victims, who police believe are gang members, were uncooperative with the investigation.

One of the injured men was arrested later Saturday for retaliating, he said.

This report will be updated when more information becomes available.
