Rep. Lujan to talk stimulus Thursday

U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, D-NM is in Clovis Thursday, meeting with several groups to discuss the stimulus package recently passed in Washington, D.C.
The tour begins at 9 a.m. when Curry County Commissioners will convene a special meeting to hear a briefing on economic recovery and investment policy.
At noon, Lujan is meeting with Cannon Air Force Base officials to discuss Cannon and the recovery package, and at 1 p.m. Lujan is speaking at Barry Elementary to discuss modernizing classrooms and protecting teacher’s jobs, a press release said.
Lujan voted in support of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, otherwise known as the economic stimulus package, a $787 billion plan passed by Congress Feb. 13.
