Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 11 p.m. Feb. 15 officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Rencher for a report fugitive sighting.

A caller said jail escapee Edward Salas was possibly in the residence.

The resident gave officers permission to search the residence.

Officers did not find anyone else in the home, but saw several pipes and other items of drug paraphernalia lying out in the open and issued the resident a citation.

About 5 p.m. Feb. 16 an officer responded to the 900 block of Cypress Street for a garage fire.

When the officer arrived, the garage was fully engulfed in flames.

A man said three boys knocked on his door and told him to call the fire department because a couch was burning in a vacant garage next door.

The officer talked to the boys who said they were walking by the garage when they saw the fire and went to the resident’s home to let him know.

The officer noted the garage, valued around $10,000 was a total loss and the fire department leveled it due to structure damage.

The fire is being investigated as arson.

About 2 p.m. Feb. 17 an officer took a harassment report at the police department.

A woman said a couple hours before,
