Two ENMU players placed on LSC South hoops teams

RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University sophomore forward
Cat Clay was a second-team selection on the the All-Lone Star
Conference South Division women’s team in basketball.

For the men, ENMU’s Dannon Wafer was chosen honorable mention in selections announced this week by the conference office.

Clay led the Zias in scoring (12.8 ppg) and averaged 4.6 rebounds
per game this season. She led the LSC in three-pointers made (133) and
3-pointers per game (2.8), hitting 36 percent of her shots from long

Clay had at least one 3-pointer in each of her last 26 games,
including six in a loss at Abilene Christian to start division play.

Wafer averaged 9.3 points and a team-best seven rebounds per outing.
He had four double-doubles during the season, including a 16-point,
12-rebound effort that helped the Greyhounds edge New Mexico Highlands
66-65 in late November.
