HENDERSON, Nev. — Clovis High grad Travis Reid took the Western Athletic Conference individual title and led New Mexico State to a one-stroke team victory over Fresno State in Wednesday’s final round.
Reid shot a 54-hole total of 67-73-69 — 209, seven under par, and the Aggies finished at 6-over 870 for the three-day event, shooting a four-man total of 1-under 287 on Wednesday.
“It was a fight to the end with us and Fresno State,” said Aggies coach Scott Lieberwirth. “Fresno is a great team and it was a battle.
“It’s nice to have a special player like Travis. When he needed it and the team needed it, Travis really came through for us. I couldn’t be happier for him and the rest of the team.”
