Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 5 a.m. May 18 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Sheldon Street for a vehicle crashed into a house.
A 68-year-old man said he pulled into the driveway to pick up the resident for work. After he got out of his vehicle, he realized it was moving forward because he had forgotten to put it in park.
He said he got back into the vehicle but accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake and crashed into the porch.
Ambulance personnel treated a female resident, who was on the porch.

About 10 a.m. May 20 an officer took an embezzlement report filed at the police department.
A manager for a restaurant on 21st Street said he had discovered one of his employees had been stealing money from the store and falsifying checks.
He said he discovered an unusually high number of checks in the registers but a lower than normal amount of cash.
When he looked further, he said he discovered voided checks used to begin direct deposit for other employees had been altered and signed by one of his employees to cover cash taken from the registers to make it appear they were balanced.
The officer made a record of the documentation. About $300 was missing.

Around 3 p.m. May 22 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Prince Street for narcotics.
A clerk said after a group of customers left, she found a small baggy containing white chunks on the floor.
A short while later, she said a woman returned to the store and was looking around on the floor. Asked if she needed help, said she had dropped $20. Then, she left the store.
The substance field-tested positive for cocaine.

About 5 p.m. May 22 an officer was flagged down in the 1000 block of Wallace Street by bail recovery agents in reference to a man wanted on several warrants.
A female resident with the bond agents told the officer the 19-year-old was in the house and she had told him he couldn’t be there.
With the resident’s permission, officers searched but found nothing.
During a second search, an officer noticed an alcove behind a refrigerator and yelled, “show me your hands”, at which point officers saw hands rising.
The man was arrested on three warrants.
