A Clovis police officer was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center for injuries Saturday morning after losing control of his motorcycle during a training exercise, Chief Steve Sanders said.
The officer was later airlifted to a Lubbock hospital for treatment of injuries Sanders classified as orthopedic.
Sanders declined to release the officer’s name until his family could be notified.
Sanders said the officer lost control of the motorcycle about 8:30 a.m. and was thrown. He hit a metal stop sign, injuring his right lower leg, Sanders said.
