A Bovina man was sentenced Monday to seven years in prison for robbing two Clovis Dairy Queens in 2008.
Christopher Garcia, 20, pleaded guilty to two counts of armed robbery, court records show. He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence because the court found his charges were serious violent offenses, and he faces five years of probation after his release.
Garcia and two other Bovina men were arrested Nov. 16, 2008, in Parmer County when they were stopped in a vehicle matching the description of one used to get away after a robbery at the Dairy Queen on East First Street in Clovis, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office.
The release said the three admitted to taking part in the robbery as well as one a few days earlier at the Dairy Queen on Main Street in Clovis.
Court records show Jesus Larrea, 21, is in the process of negotiating a plea agreement.
Joseph Bermea, 21, pleaded guilty in September to two counts of armed robbery, records show, and received a partially suspended sentence of five years in prison followed by five years probation.
