A pregnant woman and a 21-year-old man were arrested Tuesday for trafficking cocaine.

Mariella Ceballos, 25, and Jake Linares, both of Muleshoe, are being held at the Curry County Detention Center on $35,000 bond each.

Agents with the Region V Drug Task Force their vehicle on U.S. 60/70/84 after an investigation indicated they were transporting drugs to the Clovis area, according to a press release from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Ceballos, approximately nine months pregnant, admitted to agents she had cocaine hidden in her undergarments and turned over three ounces of cocaine, valued at about $8,500, the release said.

Linares told agents he was helping Ceballos transport the drugs because she was pregnant, the release said.
