School board to meet Saturday
The Clovis Municipal Schools board of education is meeting in executive session 1 p.m. Saturday to Coach Jerry Isler’s case against the district and the New Mexico Activities Association.
Isler, fired by the schools and suspended by the New Mexico Activities Association, is asking U.S. Judge Martha Vasquez to grant an injunction allowing him to continue coaching pending the outcome of his lawsuit against the two entities.
Isler, in his ninth season at Clovis, is accused of recruiting players. He was suspended for a year by the New Mexico Activities Association in mid-December.
School officials have since fired Isler from coaching, though he remains a teacher.
The closed meeting is in the central office board room.
