Curry County Manager Lance Pyle has been appointed to serve on the professional standards council of a newly developed detention center accreditation program for the state.

Pyle will serve alongside four detention center commanders, according to a press release from the New Mexico Association of Counties.

Other council members include jail administrators: David Casanova, Roosevelt County, Curtis Cherry, Sierra County, Al Solis, Chavez County and Ron Torres, Bernalillo County.

The council will approve standards and oversee development and implementation of the accreditation program, the release said.

The NMAC and New Mexico Municipalities League are collaborating to develop the program and coordinate the development of standards, drafted by detention professionals from nine counties, the release said.
