A man accidentally shot himself in the hand Tuesday while driving on U.S. 60/84, according to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.
Undersheriff Wesley Waller said Ryan Parrish told deputies he was westbound from Melrose. Parrish, 24, reported his passenger asked to look at his gun and he was attempting to remove a bullet from the chamber when it fired.
The bullet passed through his hand and the windshield of his vehicle, Waller said.
Parrish was treated at Plains Regional Medical Center and later transferred to a Lubbock hospital for what officials said was not a life-threatening injury.
