Curry County is hosting an open house 6:30 p.m. Monday at the fairgrounds to discuss future growth and improvements to the grounds, according to a press release.

County Manager Lance Pyle said some of the suggestions his office has received for improving fairgrounds have included: Parking and hook-ups for recreational vehicles, covered horse stalls, warm up arenas and finishing the parking lot and making accommodations to hold indoor monster truck shows at the Special Events Center.

Populous Inc. from Knoxville has been hired to create a master plan, which is expected to be completed by May.

The $31,000 plan will be, “a tool used by the board of Curry County commissioners in prioritizing future projects and improvements to the fairgrounds,” the release said.
