Letters to the Editor: Parents important in education

Parents important in education

I’m sure the school board will select a highly qualified person for the superintendent’s position now that Rhonda Seidenwurm has announced she’s leaving.

I hope when they take office they will implement policies that include students and parents taking responsibility for their education.

The teachers in Clovis do an outstanding job of providing the information and motivation required for students to excel and be prepared for the next step or grade. Students and parents need to be a part of that process.

When students come to school unprepared for the day they do their school, teachers and community a large disservice. It’s easy to blame the teacher, but everyone in the community has to do their part — and that starts at home.

Let’s get these students ready to be our future leaders.
